LIBERTY LAKE -- A Liberty Lake man is on the mend after being bitten by a great white shark off the north coast of Oregon.

A look at Bob Martin's leg, three weeks after being bitten by a great white shark off the coast of Oregon.
Bob Martin says his wounds are still healing. He was bitten in the thigh while surfing about a thousand feet off shore. Rangers at that beach say it's the second shark attack of the summer.
Martin tells KREM 2 News, "I was paddling, catching a wave, moved up on the board and something hit me from behind." He never actually saw the shark. But a friend on shore saw the holes in his wetsuit, and the blood. Three-weeks later, Martin's leg is healing, and the bruising is still visible.
Martin tells KREM 2 News he most likely will not return to the Oregon coast this year. Next year when he does go back, he says he will probably visit a different beach.
