Jason Rogers caught the shark,
removed it from the water, and was holding it by
the tail and under it's stomach. A moment or
two later the shark bit his left forearm.
INJURY: Superficial flesh wound.

pressure to the injury. An ambulance was called and they rinsed the injury with saline and
covered it. At the hospital, the wound was flushed and clean, partially closed and covered,
and he was given IV antibiotics. He was sent home with oral antibiotics for 5 days.
SPECIES: A juvenile bull shark (Carcharhinus leucas), 80 cm in length
SOURCE: Interview with Jason Rogers by Simon De March
