Shark bites 12-year-old surfer on Folly Beach on Sunday, officials say
FOLLY BEACH, S.C. (WCIV) – Officials say that a shark bit a young surfer on Folly Beach Sunday morning.
Chief Andrew Gilreath of Folly Beach Public Safety said that a 12-year-old surfer had a shark bite to his foot/ankle at 11:30 a.m.
He was sent to the hospital, but he is expected to be okay.
It occurred between 5th and 6th East Street.
