Remains of Man Discovered In 9 1/2-Foot Shark Off Florida
A fisherman who reeled in a 364-pound tiger shark Saturday discovered inside the leg of a man and a bone from another leg, the authorities said.
Dr. Ronald Wright, a medical examiner for Broward County, said a right leg with a sock and a tennis shoe and a man's upper left thigh bone were found in the 9 1/2-foot shark, which had put up a fourhour fight with the fisherman.
''In South Florida waters, we just don't have sharks attack swimmers,'' Mr. Wright said. ''For the last 20-plus years, the only ones we've ever seen are individuals who have drowned, usually because of intoxication, or killed by other means and dumped in the water.''
Mr. Wright said the attack probably took place within 100 miles of the spot where the shark was caught.
